Frequently Asked Questions
What is unlacquered brass and how does it patina?
Unlacquered brass is raw, untreated brass—no protective coating. Over time, it naturally oxidizes, developing a warm, darker patina influenced by water minerals, humidity, and use. Some prefer the bright gold look (polish to restore); others love the antique bronze tone it becomes. This evolution is intentional and celebrated.
What’s the difference between the four handle styles?
All are solid brass and age identically. Simple Cross: classic raised cross with subtle relief. Flat Cross: minimalist, flush-profile cross. Lever: smooth, ergonomic lever for modern ease. Butterfly: ornate vintage wings—dramatic and decorative. Choose based on aesthetic preference and ergonomics.
Will this fit my sink/countertop?
Designed for standard 3-hole sinks with 8″ center-to-center spacing (common in US kitchens). You’ll need 3 holes: left (hot), center (spout), right (cold). Faceplate is included to cover existing 4-hole sinks if needed. Verify hole spacing and countertop thickness (max 1.5″) before ordering.
Do I need a plumber? What if mine refuses?
We recommend a licensed plumber familiar with non-standard fixtures. Some plumbers resist handcrafted pieces due to unfamiliarity—but we provide detailed guides and are happy to consult directly with them. Contact us before purchase for pre-installation support.
Can I order custom finishes or sizes?
Yes! We offer oil-rubbed bronze, antique brass, and bespoke sizing (e.g., 10″ bridge, taller spout). Matching soap dispensers, pot fillers, and bathroom sets also available. Just email us with your vision—we love collaboration.

Finish note: Unlacquered brass develops a natural patina over time. This cosmetic aging is expected, intentional, and not considered a defect.
